More coal was consumed in Indiana than in all but two U.S. states in 2019

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) latest coal data, the 36.7 million short tons of coal consumed in Indiana during 2019 was more than any state in the nation besides Texas and North Dakota.
